Hi there,

Does anyone know of any dog socialisation groups in the London Bridge/Borough area? We have a lovely 3 year old Pom and have just got a tiny pug puppy. It would be great if they could get to meet other friendly doggies!

Thanks,

Antonia

Don't know of any specifically. I find Greenwich park is generally good for dog socialisation (you can sit on a branch & let the other dogs come up & meet your two!) Southwark Park is also ok but you do have to look out for some of the biggger dogs. I have a very friendly mini dac if you ever want to meet up

I often see a group in Tanner Street park. I don't think it's a formal arrangement but it works. There are a lot of dogs around there.

there's a early morning group in potters field hanging out most weekday mornings, i pass them about 8 am, they all seem to be very happy!

Jaybee - do you dislike dogs or do you think this is humanising them too much? It's really important to do if you want your dog to be well behaved around other dogs (and humans) so benefits us all. Only bad dog owners don't socialise their dogs properly.

High, Harry and Poppy. I walk my neighbours' two dogs Monday - Friday. Flo is a miniature long-haired dachsund and Truman, a lasso/shitzu. Both are very friendly, though Flo can be a tad noisy at first.

As beetroot said, there are several dogs in Tanner Street park, usually around 1pm and again around 7pm. I also use Leathermarket Gardens and the gardens at St Mary's Church, Bermondsey Street/Abbey Street.

Look forward to seeing you, at some point :-)

Great place to socialise (Tanner st)
haha I know the lovely Flo, lots of small breeds and nice owners, may be worth giving it a try.

Tanner st is a lovely place to socialise with small breeds. I know little Flo, she is a darling.
