I'll never go to another pub quiz again as long as I live. I'm still cringing from the time I took the missiz to one and one of the questions was, 'Where would you find the Northern Lights?'
She shouted out, "Blackpool!"
You may have been kidding there Chalkey, but this is a true story.
A few years back my wife and I were roped in to make up the numbers in a Youngs Brewery inter-pub quiz.
We were away to a pub in Pimlico, my wife was asked, "Other than composing, for what is Frederic Chopin famous?"
She gazed imploringly at me across the table and I subtly and slowly drummed my fingers on it's surface.
Her face lit up, "He invented the typewriter!" she exclaimed.
It is right, cheats never prosper.
