recently I've joined South East Central which covers a lot of the Southwark areas (more south than SE1) plus Lewisham, Greenwich boroughs etc. They seem to be gaining quite a lot of members so far and have at least three councillors posting

But good: local web forums can only be beneficial, as our own dear london-se1 daily demonstrates.

Last week I was looking for something similar for a town outside London (Torquay as it happens) and could find only a feeble effort by the local paper on which both it and posters seemed to have given up.

it's been set up by the guys behind the Brockley Central blog, so that's why they kept the Central rather than any geographical claim ;)

quick update:

SouthEastCentral now has SEVEN Southwark councillors posting there.
