Hi all,

I'm trying to convince a friend of mine to move here (to SE1) as compared to the east-of-Brick Lane/Bethnal Green area -- what are some good arguments?

I think that the transit is better (Central Line is horrible at rush hour), closer to West End, fewer people in skinny jeans -- what would you add?

Transport is definitely better, and we're so much closer to the centre of London.

I like the greater mix of cultures/classes that we have in SE1. It just feels more relaxed.

I have a beard and a fixie :-)

Skinny jeans are a bit uncomfortable on me though.

The hipster count has rocketed in SE1 recently. Esp on Bermondsey St.

Arguments for SE1 include: closer to the river, more central, Maltby St, Borough Market, white cube etc. It is also "on the up" as a cool/trendy area of London, hence the recent uptick in the hipster index.

after 10 years of living in east london i moved south, to SE1. and i can safely say the pubs are a lot better and the restaurants are far superior down here. even the curry's are better!
