Helicopters over SE1/ Tower Bridge Area

Has anyone noticed an increase in these noisy machines at all hours of the day flying along the river and over Tower Bridge? Recently they seem that much lower and when they fly over I can't hear the TV.
Or am I just turning into a grumpy old man?
Who controls their frequency and flight path?

Alas, as we approach the Olympics I fear we'll just have to get used to it. I saw military ones this morning and yesterday afternoon the river suddenly went all Dunkirk, with six speedboats and a landing craft.

Noticed this week there were army hele's all over the place, they had a 5 days of security practises for the Olympics apparently!!!
Didn't work though someone managed to get a fake bomb through all their security loooool.
