Just received a letter through my door about st saviours bridge being closed from Monday 20th August to the 25 August as they have a builder at new Concordia wharf to repair the footpath.

Does anyone know if there was planning permission for this closure as I haven't seen any signs or planning notices put up and am surprised this is possible considering this section is part of the Thames path and technically a public right of way.

I have checked the Southwark council website but can't seem to find anything.

Planning permission wouldn't be required for repairs to be carried out.

I don't think there is a public right of way across the bridge or neighbouring wharves (though, as you say, it is part of the Thames Path national trail - but that's not the same thing).

Closure of a public highway for works would require formal public notices etc, but this isn't a highway either.

If local residents have been notified by letter a few weeks in advance, that would seem reasonable enough.
