There was a good turn out for the launch of Bankside & Borough Boules at the Boules terrain, Park St/
Maiden Lane junction last Thursday. Fading light stopped play at 8.pm, though with respect to local residents, we wouldn't have played beyond then. The 2 guys Colin and Bruce from the London Pétanque club were great; explaining the game to novices and giving tips on techniques. A glass of pastis added to the relaxed late summer evening atmosphere.
We'll be there again 5.30-7.30 this Thursday 13th and every Thursday thereafter when decent weather and light allow.
Bar Blue opposite the terrain and
The Market Porter and Anchor Pub are close by watering holes.
Already popular and tight for space at
Maiden Lane terrain, we'll be launching Boules at Mint St Park (Marshalsea Rd/Southwark Bridge Rd) on Tuesday 18th 5.30-7.30pm for regular Tuesday sessions as well.
The Lord Clyde and Goldsmiths are near by.
Come and join novices, part-timers, enthusiasts and aficionados at either location. Boules provided or bring your own.
