I walk past this everday and it seems like an abandoned building site. Any ideas what's happening here please?

Thanks.

Weston Street doesn't meet Tanner Street. Do you mean Weston Street/Leathermarket Street?
This building was a topic a while ago

I hadn't realised it had stopped progressing.

It's been gaining height since last week, I don't think it has stopped.

I quite liked the building that used to be there, it had character so it's a shame to see some new flats replace it.

Agreed. I was a bit shocked when the old one went.

beetroot - I did mean Leathermarket St., thanks for the correction.

I'll walk past again and see what's happening; pleased to know it hasn't stalled.

Thanks.

are you a buyer of one of the new swanky flats? :-P

I remember the marketing brochure for them, which was first aimed at far-east investors. It boasted of great views of the gherkin, shard etc.

If they bought off plan they will be a bit surprised to find it mostly enjoys looking directly at the Kipling Estate tower blocks... strangely omitted from the artists impressions.

No, I'm not!

I'm sure that if they have been bought off plan by investors they'll do pretty well; the area seems to be constantly improving (with more activity than I can remember for a decade) and rents rising fast too.

Is the same thing happening at The Rose as there appears to be a small block of flats above it now?
No sign of the bar re-opening though
