I've just bought some tickets for Hedda Gabler at the Old Vic as part of their discounted 'community tickets' scheme.

Quote:
If you live or work in Lambeth or Southwark you are eligible for discounted tickets. We have a limited number of 10 & 5 tickets for Monday and Wednesday evening performances and any midweek (Wed or Thu) matinee.

Does anyone know if any of the nearby theatres run similar schemes? I've had a bit of a google and can't see anything but you never know.

People have previously complained on the forum that the sightlines from the 'community tickets' seats at The Old Vic are not very good.

The Young Vic has its Two Boroughs Project.

Thanks James. Yeah we did check the seating plan and several of the tickets offered were 'restricted view' (behind a column) but we managed to grab some with hopefully a reasonable view.

I'll check out the Two Boroughs Project. Cheers.

Hi Danjit,

Get in touch with community@tate.org.uk for their free (and very good) community film club and some other great events.

Have fun.

It's probably also worth mentioning The Audience Club.
