Sadly the Ministry of Sound is not really in a position to throw stones in the offshore tax arrangement greenhouse.

True indeed but they also aren't a major partner in the regeneration of the Elephant and Castle either. Lend Lease, one of the other partners, fair no better either:

Maybe then the issue is that it is legal and it is disgraceful.

What are the issues re MoS and tax avoidance, please?

Ministry of Sound appear to have fairly regular taxation arrangements, unless I'm missing something? City AM, 04 Dec 2012: Minstry of Sound boosts profit on back of strong brand label

There has been an question about undeclared donations MoS made to the Lib Dems around the time of this application:

BBC London report wrote:
none of the three Liberal Democrat politicians who rejected the application declared that the party locally had been in receipt of donations from the nightclub – £21,000 at local level and £57,300 at national level.
Technically, planning councillors do not have to declare donations to their party – even though they would have to declare attending a party at the club – because councillors are deemed not to benefit personally.

It has never been in any doubt that the MOS can compete in the sleaze ranks with the best of them...and this little caper only proves it once again. For some reason, while Oakmayne want to build housing in the centre of the E&C Regeneration area on a lot which has a building which has stood vacant for years, the MOS is claiming to be some sort of national historic monument which vies with St. Paul's and the Tower in importance and any construction activity within 100 yards is going to compromise its unique status. UGH! How far up their own backsides will they go? The MOS is a bloody DIVE in a SHACK and that questionable council officials can throw a spanner in the works beggars belief. Shame on Southwark Council for allowing this saga to continue.

Based on? I couldn't find anything about alleged tax avoidance, so was wondering what (?Labour Cllr?) Peter John was referring to. I'd hate to think that people were throwing around unsubstantiated allegations.
