The lifetime achievment award (a recent post made me appreciate them)goes to the Elephant and Castle subway system,without praise or recognition or discrimination,through thick and thin and through the elements they have served the community without fuss.

raspberries - farce of access to the river for locals for queens jubilee river pagaent. Total shambles and upsetting for many

helicopters, bloody helicoptors.

Oscars - the screen at towerbridge particularly on Super Saturday of the olympics. That full moon hanging by the rings and the atmosphere - wow wow wow

Food glorious food - all the markets and that...

South East Fruit and Veg on the voyagers estate (se16 really) for cheap, localish, incredbably fresh fruit and veg not at stupid Borough/booth prices

here's a few of my nominations:
most fun event of the year: surrey docks farm animals at nursery row park & scything (same event)
the only meaningful local communities' involvement in regeneration award: elephant amenity network event (january 2012)
the only critical analysis of regeneration & alternatives award: siege of the elephant (dec 2012)
the we so don't care award: (really tough choice, but the winner has to be) cllr richard livingstone who has still not replied to an email dated 15 jan 2012.

Oscar: the fireworks display after the Olympics - fantastic and a great atmosphere on the riverbank....

Oscar: this forum - for genuine community engagement spiced with lively debate and exchange of views

I agree with SophieLondon and at last week's SE1 Forum Social Christmas Dinner we toasted to exactly that.

So, Oscar for London-SE1.co.uk, the best community website in London.
