I'm coming to the Tate in the new year and I'm wondering whether it's worth eating at the tate restaurant. Is it any good?

Jon Good value. An upmarket canteen rather than a London restaurant but none the worse for that. Enthusiastic if amateur service. Affordable. But remember you can't make a reservation so you need to include queuing time - in our case 8.30 p.m. on a Friday about 10 minutes. James

I think the restaurant is ok too, it's kind of just a sort of 'Tate Modern' experience I guess, so it's cool to just sit down and have a drink and a snack. But if you want something decent to eat, then the pub next to it is probably much more enjoyable... but only if you don't mind pubs I guess. One thing that annoyed me about the Tate restaurant however was the lack of choice, especially in the desert section... you only have a choice out of two cakes... hmmmm, very nice... and what does one do when they don't like either option? Go to the pub next door I guess. :*) Typical.

What is that amazing mad old building on Southwark Bridge Road with the hand-painted sign in Russian, Hotel Druzhba?
