For lost/dead animals -
if you think your pet has been killed on the road call Southwark Councils dead animal storage unit....020 7525 2417. Also email the council to demand a microchip checker is installed at the centre. They do not have this facility!!!!!

Thanks for that Paul, I knew that animals killed on the road were not just thrown into the general rubbish. I will send an e-mail as well for a micro-chip thingy majig is installed. It would save an awful lot of heartache if there was one there. and do the chips have the name of the vet who put them in I wonder?

I thought that the thread title was a description of the Town Hall, and it's workforce!

Thanks to this years-old post, I had some idea of whom to call this morning. Thank you. A kitty was killed just in front of my house this morning, and she's been around the neighbourhood. She's got to be someone's wee one. Horrible start to the day.

Please take the cat to the local vet first. They will not charge you and , if the animal is chipped , they will do all they can to contact the owners. If you involve the council it's likely the cat will never be identified and the desperate owners will never know what happened to their beloved pet.
Always contact the local vet first. Thank you for caring 😻
