Horse and Cart "racing" on Southwark Street

Did anyone see the dozen or so horse and carts on Southwark Street earlier this afternoon? Some of them went at a normal pace, others seemed to be racing, overtaking cars etc. I don't know how fast they usually go, it was quite exciting, but it seemed a bit too fast for a busy central London road, so I was wondering if it was an illegal "race"?

I saw them on Roupell Street where they had stopped for a drink at the King's Arms.

Seemed to be travellers/gypsies on a day out / pub crawl.

So long as they aren't going over 30mph, and the conductor isn't drinking booze on the pub crawls it's all good.

I like seeing horses on our streets and would love it if there were more.

I saw then race along Roupell Street a couple of months ago.

They come to the Kings Arms quite regularly.I did ask where they came from, can't remember the details but they have stables somewhere in SE London
