Can anyone recommend any cafes that still make home made chips or places
apart from Teapod where you can get leaf tea ?

Not SE1 but across the border in SE16 - Dun's Deli in the Blue market place is fab. Not sure about the home made chips but I reckon they are. He's got a chef school in there I think. The food is brilliant, definitely home made, and you get tea in a big brown teapot how it should be served. No connection just a happy and very full customer!
