No, the book of Coyle will prevail, repent!

This bloke's a no good aunt.
Him & the crew next door trying their best to close down the local football club.
It's shameful how much the area's changed in such a short period.
I've lost count of the amount of times that I bumped into SH on the cobbles & in the local pubs over the years & that was just socially as well as on the election trail.
I saw him get chinned whilst out on the hustings twice in a pub in Weston St but it never fazed him, although his entourage went into panic mode.

Yea well, tough guys are no longer welcome in this hipster world. Makes me sick what they have done to us. Everywhere I looked the last few weeks, I saw million pound gaffs with Labour posters in the window, bet they've all got private medicine. Yay vote Labour, be cool man, there's an African chap in work, great dancer.

A.....holes.

If so, I'm glad to hear there's some rich people with private medicine around who are willing to support a party that wiould fund the NHS properly and tax the rich to pay for it! Good for them. Perhaps there are people out there who look beyond their own selfish interests when deciding how to vote.

Perhaps Coyle will decide now that Corbyn and Corbyn's policies are vote-winners (thank you, young people everywhere!) and stop backstabbing. I've been watching the Labour Party scampering rightwards for years, trying to keep up with the Tories. Amazing to think we might actually have a major political party that will be (slightly) left of centre again!

(And arseholes to you too, boroughonian - no need to be insulting.)

I never used that word though, you did and I never directed it at anyone personally, you did.

Give me a break, do these people want the likes of me around? leave off, they are happy for us little folk to be else where. Most of them are rich people clogging up OUR local primary schools (oh yes they are) that don't give s*** about London or the occupants of it. If you think you're a Labour man then you must surely fight against that. But you're not, are you?
Neither are they.

Now I know this wont mean much to you, but it's my home and I'm made to feel unwelcome.

Celebrate that Mr Socialist.

In case you haven't noticed, Corbyn lost.

You clearly meant that the people you had just mentioned and were insulting WERE 'aresholes' but didn't spell it out - and I didn't call YOU one.

But YOU don't need to use rude words to be insulting, boroughonian, you're insulting all the time.

I'm no doubt a relative newcomer to SE1 - I've only lived here since 1979 - but I'm ready to welcome other newcomers any time. And I'll continue to vote Labour until something better comes along!

John C, you're a font of knowledge, things local and beyond - and you're definitely a "local" (!) - but I think, with respect, you may have misread Boroughonian's point/posts. I didn't read it as him directing arseholes to anybody in particular.

I very often disagree with Boroughnian (except when it comes to food) but he has never expressed himself in a manner that's below the belt. He is good at having an argument and naturally contrary. That's what happens on a Forum.

Good manners are the lubricant of society.

My apologies to boroughonian and to everyone else on the list if I misread his intent.

My misunderstanding of the use of the word a...holes was inspired by what I saw as the unpleasant sneering tone of boroughonian's previous sentence 'I saw million pound gaffs with Labour posters in the window, bet they've all got private medicine. Yay vote Labour, be cool man, there's an African chap in work, great dancer.'

I don't actually know anyone who says 'yay' or 'cool' - correction, I know a lady who says 'yah', but she's about my age and doesn't live in a million-pound gaff. But for all I know there are indeed inhabitants of 'million-pound gaffs' (and given the average price of property in this area there are probably a lot of million-pound gaffs) who voted Labour. Good for them.

And my response was intended to be a light-hearted comment that if rich people with private medical care were voting Labour they showed a welcome public-spiritedness in voting for a party that would probably tax them more in order to pay for the NHS. I didn't comment on the 'African chap... great dancer' - I didn't understand what boroughonian was getting at.

I assumed boroughonian was sneering at 'rich trendy lefties' (you'll see he later called me 'Mr Socialist' as if 'socialist' is an insult!). And when boroughonian went on use a swearword (even with a few letters omitted) I assumed it was directed it at the 'rich trendy lefties' he had just been complaining about. I didn't take it personally - I'm not rich or trendy. Perhaps I should have simply ignored it or just objected to its use, rather than repeating it.

Perhaps we can regard it on both sides as 'expletives deleted'?
