To alert people to local cashpoint thievery.
My daughter fell for the lodged card and mini camera trick at a cashpoint in Grange Road on Friday 1st July - 11pm.
She said there were a couple of guys on bikes hovering about too which may have been involved.
So be aware, shield your number, look out for stuck on fronts to card holders or wires etc.

i regret to say these two and a woman also active at tower bridge road natwest. they are roumanian like it or not. if your card is 'retained' by a bank machine, they probably have it and you should cancel the card immediately!

Can you explain what this scam is exactly please?

this is why when ever you use a cashpoint you should ALWAYS cover the number pad with your hand when tapping in your pin

the scam will involve having a tiny pin camera looking down on the keypad - as you tap in your pin it will record it - the slot where the card goes in will have a "fake" car slot that will record your card details or retain it - someone watching as you walk away will go an retrieve the card

they then have your card details and pin - they then make as many large cash withdrawals as they can before you notice your bank account is being cleared out ..
