Hello

I live on Bermondsey Street close to White Cube and on Saturday night around 12:40am heard very loud shouting echoing from the street post-attack at London Bridge. It didn't sound like normal shouting (drunk/argument) but very aggressive... I couldn't make it out properly. Called police who advised that others had done the same.

Did anyone else hear this and did anyone manage to see what happened?

Thanks

On Saturday night noises that I would normally take no notice of were chilling me, I too heard loud shouting (St Georges Circus area) around the same time, like I say, I was on edge, but I can't get it out of my head that I heard "Allahu Akbar", I think I'm probably imagining that though, hope so. As you say, it was very aggressive.

Cars or motor bikes backfiring felt like gunshots to the point Mrs b got out of bed to ask me whether it was gunfire.

You was not hearing things, we heard this to in St Georges Road.

Very sad evening for London. Thoughts and prays are with all.

I witnessed a very unfortunate incident at Sainsbury's on Long Lane just after the attack in which a highly distressed woman was being manhandled out of the store by security. I would expect a business such as Sainsbury's to provide a basic level of training to their staff on how to deal with a major incident.

Does anyone have contact details for Sainsbury's - ideally the area manager for SE1 because I would like to make a complaint.

Hello all.

Thanks for update - wonder if sound heard at St. George's around same time is what I heard on Bermondsey street? Sound I heard was definitely coming from Bermondsey Street so I don't know if sound would have carried or separate incidents?

In regards to Sainsbury's ... for reasons I don't want to go into i really wouldn't advise going to area manager, I have run into him on occasion and I don't think it will go very far ... I would probably advise contacting head office

Hi there

We also heard the very aggressive shouting on Bermondsey Street (by Pizarro) on Sat Night. As you say, usually not something that would cause that much alarm, but in the circumstancesÖ

From where we live we canít see the street, and it did cross my mind that it could have been one of the perpetrators (we didnít know they were all dead at the time), but we heard him say things like ďthis is where I liveĒ and we came to the conclusion that it was some drunk sounding off in reaction to the events. I probably would have called the police in normal circumstances due to the aggression he was displaying, but I figured they probably had their hands full at the time.

Iím sorry, but I have no idea what time that was, so we canít compare notes with the St Georgeís incident.

On Sunday, despite not having had much sleep, (between the helicopters, people texting to make sure we were OK and watching the news for hours) we went ahead with our plans to go for a walk and have a nice pub lunch. I felt the need to do something that would be guaranteed to p*ss them off.

Cheers

Hils

Thanks so much for that definitely cleared it up and glad you managed to hear what we did not ! It made me so anxious - I was worried it was someone hurt and wasn't sure whether to go down And check... as you said given the circumstances was very cautious!

Good on you for the lunch we did the same here ! It's nice to see everyone getting back to normal after this - so sad when people let terrorism destroy their quality of life :-)

There was a stall outside St Johns Parish Church. Waterloo Roundabout last Thursday with Allah written on their board and lots of aggressive shouting with passers by etc
I mentioned to local police in case of interest worthy of investigation but apparently no.

Walking home from Potters Fields after the vigil last night in a slightly solemn but comforted mood, we were torn out of our ponderings by a dishevelled, bottle of booze wielding, obviously inebriated chap who found it necessary to remind a small group of muslims, including some boys, that they are sc*m and this is his country and they should eff off. Fortunately a couple of gentlemen stepped in and gently escorted the drunk away.

I witnessed, and filmed, the shouter for a short while.

A couple of friends and I had spent the evening/afternoon around Borough Market before moving on to the Cut to watch the football. We were on our way back to Borough High Street when the incident occurred and were moved by police down to the junction of Borough High St/Tabard St/Great Dover St.

We made our way to the Old School Yard on Long Lane to take refuge as at the time we thought the suspects were still loose and we couldn't get back north of the river easily.

After leaving the OSY we headed towards Tower Bridge to try and cross the river. When we got to the bottom of Bermondsey St we saw this guy, middle-aged, shouting at anyone that passed about the weak borders, sounding off about immigration and how people like 'us' (we were all white-British) were coming in and destroying his country.

From a distance we did think he might've been one of the suspects but it became clear that he was drunk (or on something stronger) and that very anti-immigration.

My friend has suggested I forward the video on to the police although I'm not sure if worthwhile - he wasn't doing anything wrong apart from being a public nuisance - I just worry that he could be a bit unhinged and may take out his misconceptions on completely innocent people.
