Many home nation people lost jobs due to influx of immigration so we can hopefully act more in the sovereignty in this sort of issue especially
Funny that, Paramount. WE invited the Irish in to build our canals and railways, then we invited their daughters in to staff our hospital wards; then there was Windrush, to man the buses and the underground. Then we get all upset and blame immigrants for taking OUR jobs. One reason farmers in the Fens employ eastern Europeans to harvest their crops (they say the second most common language in the town of Wisbech is now Lithuanian) is because they are faster workers, more skilled and simply more hardworking than the English. One is tempted to come to the conclusion that the English much prefer to rely on other people to do the hard and dirty work that they disdain to do themselves. Or perhaps it's old Imperialist attitudes still hanging on.
