I was so excited I didn't even notice that.

Congratulations James - I feel such an arriviste to the site when I realise that you have been going for four years.

[phoney - perhaps "bicentenary" might be overselling it - are SE1's advertisers/subscribers ready to sponsor something on the scale of 1989 in Paris? - although the idea of Jessye Norman singing in Potters Fields has its attractions....]

Oh, Lang Rabbie, have you been here for less than 4 years?

How disappointing.

I do remember reading (and contributing) to the forum in 2000, but I can't remember what my name was then.

In fact this website has been going for more than six years now (since May 1998)

We have been sending email newsletters since - IIRC - June 1998, though the SE1 Direct 'brand' (and sequence of issue numbers) wasn't introduced till April 2000.

TLMJJ, you have been around as long as I can remember. ......

I remember reading lots of heavy duty flirting with someone with an equally ambigious name. It made me think that SE1 was far more exciting than I had previously realised.

Is TLMJJ the oldest gal in town? Though 'Jan the Old One' has been sharing insights and wisdom for a while as well.

Tharg and Ivanhoe are young upstarts in comparison.

I think TLMJJ was only born in 2002. I have no idea what name I used before that - maybe my real name. I'm off to search...

I remember when the forum was split into areas of SE1, so you had to guess which bit to put your post in and look at all the areas to find out what was going on. Often replies would not appear for days ....
