Could anyone recommend somewhere in the area that is available for hire - such as a leisure centre, school hall etc? It is for the "Balance for Life" festival which you may have seen an earlier message asking for volunteers (guess who did!).
Prefereably it would need to be of a size that could fit about 20 stalls and have some space (maybe a separate room) to have a workshop area (to do yoga, pilates sessions etc) and maybe have a rasied area - like a stage. However, the best thing about it will be its low, low cost!
Some information on Balance for Life -
The educational project ‘Balance for Life: the Green and Well-Being Festival' is to be held in October 2004. This free Festival is a community initiative oriented to educate, raise awareness and inspire people to discover new ways of being in balance with their outer and inner life.
Balance with the outer life is about living in harmony with the Earth. For example, actions for being friendlier with the environment like switching to green energy, consuming eco-friendly products, recycling and composting; living a more sustainable life. Balance with the inner life is about expanding our mind, heart and spirit. For instance, Yoga, Meditation and Healing are activities that can help us increase awareness, achieve mental clarity, improve health and in all, reach inner peace.
The Festival is being organised by a group of individuals living in Southwark and Central London, under a voluntary basis. We, the Balance for Life Team, believe that there are many things people can do and enjoy that could bring big changes in the way they live their lives. We want to share this believe with people living in Southwark and Central London.
