New flower shop on Bermondsey Street - anyone been in and bought...? Looks expensive but before going in and asking for the one flower budget item and therby embarrassing myself wondered if anyone knew what prices were like...? They seem to have done a really good job on the fit-out...

Bien joué...

Someone was listening to Time Out then! The recent article bemoaned thelack of a florist (despite there being a perfectly good one on TBR a mere stones throw from the bottom of Bermondsey Street)

There might be a good one in TBR, but it's not in Bearmonkey Street though is it? And that's what really counts.

GREAT to hear about the florists!! Now I won't need my armed escort to go onto TBR. The only thing missing now, IMO, is a nice cookware shop and an artisan basket weaver.

I realise it isn't actually Bermondsey Street! It must be all of, hat? Say 30ft from the end of Bermondsey Street?

Is all I was saying :-)

What? Do you mean it's within the "SoBo Special Development Area"? This area (see minutes of SouthBankSideCentral Estate Agents C'ttee, Oct 2003) has been designated as the official conduit for an overspill of coolness from BarefacedCheek Street. It is being cleared of poor and untrendy people, and, in a pionerring piece of social engineering, it is hoped that it will form a crossover area where B St residents can learn glottal stops whilst helping the locals develop their appreciation of sushi.

It's obviously not working.

Yes. Same thing. The zone doesn't extend Northwards. It goes as far south as SoBo and The Hartley. Should have pointed that out in my original post. Apologies (especially to the Czar Bar. Left out in the cold. Seems unfair.)
