Rare postboxes

I remember that there is a rare postbox somewhere on the south bank. Something to do with a king who was only on the throne for a little time, so not many were made with his mark on them, so to speak. Sorry to be A) ignorant of our glorious royals and, B) vague, but i'm sure someone can tell me where this curiousity is.

Oooh, is there? I'd like to know where, too.
I presume you're talking about Edward VIII, who was on the throne for less than a year.

There was a picture on the cover of an edition of in-SE1 two years ago.
Apparently there are two in Southwark, but the article didn't say where they are!
Edited to add: IIRC one is miles away somewhere near Peckham Rye!

Assuming there is only the one in north Southwark, this is what we are looking for:

I have just searched the dusty recesses of my bookshelves - I found remaindered copies of the two volumes of the 1989 'Chatto Curiosities of the British Street' series that I picked up a decade ago during my young fogey phase - Gavin Stamp's Telephone Boxes and one on Drinking Troughs and Fountains.
Sadly, the companion Pillar Boxes volume by Jonathan Glancey (ISBN 070113447X) apparently sold out at full price to pillar box spotters and is therefore not in my library!
A quick check on Amazon sees second hand copies going for £47.95 and £49.95!

A quick search around (I just put the ISBN number in to Google and dug around) came up with more sensibly priced copies on Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/offer-listing/070113447X/ref=dp_primary-product-display_1//103-6437369-5482249?condition=all
Four copies between $10.00 and $12.00, plus shipping from USA. A chance to fill that gap in your bookshelf - happy christmas bargains...
