Anyone know any details of the exact location of a proposed new 17-storey development in Salamanca Place? Is it going to be where the derelict office block stands, next to the railway line?

On Lambeth Planning's site is described as

Plot Corner Of Salamanca Street
Salamanca Place
London SE11

There is no map available on the database(why?) but there is a (confusing) site plan at page 46 of this pdf report from the planning committee meeting on 14th September.

"The application site comprises a 0.036 hectare triangular parcel of land located on the east side of Salamanca Place. The site is bounded by a vacant office development to the north, a railway viaduct to the east and Salamanca Street to the South. " i.e. the application site excluded the vacant offices on Black Prince Road

Lambeth turned down one application for:

Construction of a 17 storey tower to provide 43 one and two bedroom residential units together with commercial uses on the ground, first and second floors (of A1, A2, A3, B1 and live/work).

on the grounds of loss of daylight and an open aspect to the windows of the Berkeley Homes development on the other side of the street.

There is an appeal in progress on a duplicate application - think some neighbours may have received consultation letters for this if they objected to the other application.
