This is a newish place (last 6 months), on Weston St, behind (to the East of) Guy's Hospital. The chef used to be at Birdcage and the menu is a similarly eclectic mix of Asian cuisines.

3 courses for £22, 2 for £19. A very interesting menu, with some quite innovative slants on more common themes. A reasonable wine list with some well-priced and affordable stuff on it. All 3 courses that we both had were excellent, as were the appetizers. Total bill, inc service, was £70.

I would recommend it for anyone who likes SE Asian food, the main influences being Malaysian & Thai. The atmosphere is relaxed and the restaurant is quite small and intimate. The service was impeccable. Far better to go here once than, for example, Pizza Express twice, for the same money.

Thanks for your kind comments... I might just explain that Champor-Champor is a slang-y Malay expression meaning 'mix and match' - which is exactly what we are trying to do. We describe the food as 'creative Malay-Asian fusion' - and the decor is also a mixture of South and Southeast Asian bits and piece.

If anyone wants further information, please do visit our website www.champor-champor.com where you can see the menus.

A warm welcome to all local residents!
