Parks for sunbathing
Peach Thursday 2 August 2001 9.29am
Can anyone recommend any green and grassy public areas in SE1 that are good for sunbathing? Living in a small flat with no garden means that we have to travel far afield if we want to enjoy the sunshine. Any suggestions gratefully received......

The "mini-park" between Chatcham and Darwin Street is pretty cool if you are on the Borough / Bermondsey side of SE1. Although given the weather, may have to resort to more technology led means!

On the Lambeth Rd end, as well as Archbishops, there is the Old Lambeth High St Park, which is pretty and well hidden but directly behind the new Parliament View flats. Fairly secluded and good on a very hot day especially as there is a large water feature full of local kids splashing. Less used on average day as it is not staffed and with lots of bushes, becomes a bit spooky.
