dee dee Monday 18 April 2005 12.30pm
they have been in there all weekend painting and working on it but still says will be open later this week
I guess "use it or loose it" applies here so see you in there for a G&T!!
(Samuel-just for info Renall and Ritner were responding to my query re doing something about the parking by the builders from the development next door on either side of Blue Lion Place which were causing problems getting in and out. They were reluctant to do anything and the promised signs still have not gone up. I asked if it was because of the proposed development that they were reluctant to put posts up etc and the said to me that it was still scheduled to happen but the time table had been put back for 12 months but did not say why.)

Any more news on this? I walked past this morning and there appear to be some new alcoves to the left hand side of the bar now. Also they seem to have slapped a load of white paint over the walls too.

If I was a leaseholder at Blue Lion Place I think I would be complaining to the freeholder, managing agents or council about the state of the bin area which looks a mess and can be seen from the road. Seems to me it needs more recycing bins especially for papaer and more other bin and a very good hose down.

If you were a leaseholder at Blue Lion Place, you would have pulled all your hair out by now over the bin area.
In any case, it is currently being re-designed, and will have a gate on it in the very near future.

There were alcoves on the left hand side the last time I had a wee tipple in there - maybe repainted, you can actually see them now
Must be opening any day now ...

I found out last week in a specialist publication that Simon the Tanner was sold for £625,000 (pub + 2 floors above) with vacant possession to Admiral Taverns. I guess they will probably redevelop the pub or something. Sounds very cheap for the area I thought.
