Looking for a productive way to spend my free time and thinking about volunteering for something. A friend does a couple of hours a week for St Johns Ambulance so was thinking along those lines, alternatively I wouldnt mind helping out the local community

Anyone got any good ideas?

Try Waterloo Time Bank. Details are in an old edition of In SE1, so you should be able to search from the window above. HTH

Charterhouse-in-Southwark has loads of different opportunities for volunteers. Website is offline just at the moment; best to ring 020-7357-7733.

DON'T BE FOOLED by the "gingerbread house" link above. I swear I just looked on that link and it was advertising opportunities to go round TLMJJ's flat and put Elvis records on in the middle of the night. Next thing you know it'll be opium dens, slavery, and all the rest of Thouroughly Modern Millie in reverse gender.

[We'll know for certain, if anyone hears TLMJJ muttering: "It's so sad to be all alone in this world"]
