Looking for covered parking near Sumner Street
mark kearns Monday 11 July 2005 8.11pm
Does anyone know of a lockup or covered parking to rent/lease/buy near Sumner Street (just behind the Globe)? I've been lucky enough to have got my hands on a 1967 Sunbeam Alpine V but I can't insure it in London without parking it off the road, and considering it's age it really ought to be protected from the elements.
All hints, rumours or leads would be appreciated, regardless how vague :-)
btw does anyone else have a classic in the area? I've seen some nice MG's about.

I had two 1984ish W123 Mercs - one after the other. They were pinched within 3 weeks of each other last year. Now I drive something mroe boring.

The car you've bought was probably MINE once upon a time. I even have the photo to prove it. Dont you have an NCP place nearby you can get a deal with?
Gosh, Mapmaker, fancy YOU in a Merc. Thought you were a bicycle man....

Ta - I'll check with the local car parks to see what they can do me for... so have you given up on old cars now?
Mapmaker - sorry to hear about the Mercs :-(

Not quite as grand, I'm sure, but we "collect" Ford Anglias ... and use a council lock-up to keep our 'on the road' one in. You could enquire with your local council/tenants office

Try www.aparkingspace.com or google 'find a parking space'. I rented my parking space out through aparkingspace.com and there are often lots in the same apartment block up for grabs (just by borough tube) - i see all the businessmen dropping off their cars each morning!
