So has anyone read this novel ???

Apparently it is set against the background of the "David Blaine spends 44 days in a perspex box" stunt at Potters Fields that kept us all chattering away on this forum in the summer of 2003.

According to the Independent last week, it has just come out in paperback

[I seem to have missed most of the hardback reviews last autumn, but noted that it got as far as the Booker long list.]

Has nobody read this book (or knows somebody who has) ???

No, but if you keep on plugging it, it might become a book club read (which we won't tell you about unless you come to book club - so there!)

...if you press it, they will come.

Doesn't sound like a "must buy" recommendation.

However (speaking as a compulsive user of brackets in postings) I was put out that some of the Independent's book group hated the narrator's as much for overuse of brackets as for fashion obsession etc.

Set in SE1. Main character from Herefordshire. Might have to read it (if only to see where he gets his cider from).
