I have just seen the advertisement for 1, 2, 3 bedroom properties in Tabard Square.....what happened to the affordable housing bit? prices from 320,000. I think I must have a peasant mentality....:-)

I think that must be the starting price for the residential units offered on the open market - and you're right in one sense that they do seem on the high side for the size and spec. I assume the 'affordable' units are being dealt with through the housing association who will managing part of the site. I recall a conversation with a Berkeley Homes representative who justified the grouping of the affordable housing [he flinched slightly when someone referred to it as 'ghettoising'] as 'enabling efficient ongoing management of the private and social residential sectors'. In other words, the specification, maintenance and security of the privately owned bits would be of a higher quality and charged for accordingly, and never the twain shall mix!
