How very sad. I only asked him for assistance once but he could not have been more helpful. We have lost a good councillor.

Agreed. I would also very much prefer to focus on the achievements of his life, rather than the manner in which he departed from it.

I would also like to express my sadness at the news. I only had one brief letter exchange with him but he wrote in such an caring way as though he was genuinely interested and concerned. Very sad. Such a young age.

That is very sad news - I met Stephen a couple of times when we lived in Pickwick House on George Row, just opposite from the block where he lived. He came across as a great guy and committed councillor.

RIP Stephen.
