Removal of Electric fire (CORGI reg.)

I need a electric fire unit removed from my lounge... can you help me please? the council say they will not conduct the removal... i just want it out as it does not work & is a eyesore...

your assistance is appreciated.

If it's electric you just need an electrician or a builder. CORGI is for gas.

Horus we too had a hideous wall fire mounted into the wall ( 1966) it was grey with glass rods that you had to change frequently , a friend removed it but left live wires coming out of a fuse near the wall. When an electrician saw it he said we were lucky to be alive...get a qualified person what ever you do.
