I saw the sign offering discounts for "More London People" - and a shudder went through me.
Once they start socialising in the gym, could a new master race be about to come into being when my the oiliest corporation tax adviser of my aquaintance from Ernst & Young starts dating the most ambitious regeneration person I've encountered at City Hall???

When are Southwark Council going to build a swimming pool in the area?
Are there any plans? Bermondsey is crying out for this kind of facility.

Seven Islands leisure centre on Jamaica Rd has a great 33m pool and you can get anytime use for about 20 quid a month including the gym. OK, you may find a few manky plasters floating past during your swim, and the odd fag end, but it gives it that lived-in feel.

The oily tax adviser (actually I think he had worked with their energy team!) was someone I encountered through work with a client rather than through this forum.

Rabbie: did you think that they may have been having a lot of applications for memberships from people hailing from other parts of the country (or world), and that perhaps they just wanted to offer discounts to attract MORE London-people?
...if you press it, they will come.
