It's seven oclock and no word on the news about Southwark, what's the word? Hopefully no BNP...but my BBC map shows Southwark as being white (is that "not declared" or "under no overall control". Tower Hamlet has gone Con. I gather. And Lambeth has gone back to Labour.

Still NOC.... Labour gained two from the Lib Dems.

No BNP thank goodness.

Final result in Southwark (East Walworth) declared at 6.15am. Shock result there is that Lib Dem deputy leader and E&C regeneration supremo Cathy Bowman is out.

State of the council:

Labour 28
Lib Dems 28
Tories 6
Greens 1 [Jenny Jones in South Camberwell]

No change as such in the six main SE1 wards we've been covering - still all Lib Dem - but a very close result in Chaucer.

Full report coming soon. Time for another cup of coffee first though!

0958 and there does not appear to be anything on the Southwark Council website. At the very least there should be a statement of overall results. If James can provide essential info for the SE1 wards surely the combined efforts of the electoral and web teams should have been able to offer something.

I think it is disgraceful that in the age of the internet, Southwark Council have only managed to post a summary of results on their website by 11am.

If the final result was declared at 6.15am, then the results could easily have been published within minutes.

At the very least, I'd have expected something soon after 9am.

Yet again our James beats them all to it - and squeezes in a coffee as well!
