37 degrees gym

My guess is people are simply googling to find out about the gym, etc. I suspect the reason their website URL is thirtysevendegrees.co.uk is because 37degrees.co.uk is already in use by a manufacturer of baby products....
Yes, that is what I was trying to say, albeit clumsily.
The knock-on from that is that a significant number of people have been discovering this site for the first time as a result of searching for info on 37 degrees, and it is not surprising that some of them will go on to register and post here.
As far as I am concerned they are welcome to share their experiences, positive and negative.
Let's not automatically treat people as 'suspects', though.

We should be cautious, yes. People who use the forum to mislead their customers make me very angry.
But let's not let cynicism get the better of us - it doesn't make a healthy community.
If anyone is concerned that a post may not be genuine, they should hit the Report this message button and basic checks will be run.

oh please martin, you obviously work for the 37 rubbish. your gym ripped me off & i've got no choice but to keep my mouth shut? are you serious? in a crisis, people come together. that's why i'm here. anyone already genuinely interested in your gym wouldn't spend so much time defending it... unless you work there. please, SHUT UP & LEAVE US ALONE!

OK, let's calm down, shall we? I'm sure Martin can defend himself but he has been around on this forum since long before thirtysevendegrees came on the scene.
I happen to think that he's being a bit too cynical on this occasion, but he is absolutely right that we should be wary of dirty tricks by third parties.

my building in Clink street just recieved a load of tickets for a 1 days free trial at 37 degrees...Anybody who wants them is most welcome, though I'm pretty sure that if you walked into
the gym they would offer you a free trial..no connection..etc..I'm beyond a gym these days.

some of these vouchers are for 1 days free gym use,the others are for 1 weeks free gym use for two, hardly a consistent offer...The smart move would be for the disgruntled former members to make use of this offer and cause as much mayhen and chaos as possible.I'm sure the last thing they would want is forty freeloaders arriving en masse ..or give the vouchers to the local hoodies..

Such ideas are really stupid.
I've signed up for 37 degrees and will see what they are. As for now, I'm satisfied, after being there three times.

I was not expecting to find two pages of comments from yesterday.
First, to respond to Martin's comment on people having “posted exclusively about 37 degrees.” At the top of this page, the forum is titled “37 degrees gym” … Idiot. In addition, the gym have “a few niggly problems.” Was he describing the deceptive advertising, misleading rhetoric, unfair contracts, misuse of collections, maladministration, and fraudulent tactics as “niggly”? As rightly put by hermoso, this is tantamount to being criminal.
If anyone takes the time to read the postings (including the very first one), one would conclude that 37 have been grotesquely arrogant and negligent to the dismay of many current and former members. We have paid an astonishing 1,000 (if not more) for a mediocre gym with broken equipment, without even hearing a token thank you. What is more, they overcharge unexpectedly to induce us to react to their clever plan to defraud us via collections to make even more money. This is simply disgusting.
Fortunately, unido, Trading Standards have been helpful. I do have the discretionary option to take this pathetic gym directly to OFT should I feel the urgency in the future. To all affected members, you will need a letter from your bank detailing all transactions with dates relating to Tower Bridge Health Clubs for pursuit, either at Trading Standards, OFT, or in Small Claims Court.
To the Martin idiot who accused us of working for other gyms, I say to all ditch the gym entirely and go jog at a park. That way, you would never have to deal with [...] gym accounts ever again.
Because of 37's ongoing malice, I will always be here to defend others and to continue to pursue this matter until 37 desist completely or lose their consumer credit license. Never have I been so affronted by a business in my many years in many countries.

I think we get the message that you don't like 37 Degrees, but is there any need to descend into personal insults against a fellow poster who is only expressing suspicions based on past experience that many long-time posters here have witnessed?
I'm sure everybody is very sorry to hear of the trials you and other new joiners to this forum have suffered but you need to accept that there are also going to be other posters who have only had good experiences of the gym and others who may suspect the sudden rush of new posts when there is such competition amongst gyms in this area and there have been deceiving posts in the past.
The emotive language you resort to only heightens suspicions, so if you can manage to keep your complaints courteous and directed at 37 Degrees then perhaps people will respond in the way you would like.
As it is, I think everyone has probably got the message by now.
I hope you get what is deserving in your actions against 37 Degrees and that you find a gym more satisfactory to your requirements.
Just for the record (and so that I am also not accused of being some hateful, despicable 37 Degrees employee), I was a member of 37 Degrees but quit my membership without any problem after the first 12 months having read the terms and conditions and followed the precise procedure for quitting my contract. I wouldn't say it was any better or worse than most other gyms I have experienced. A bit pricey, not great service and the pool is a bit dingy but in my experience that describes most gyms. I would therefore agree with you that you're better off just going for a jog. It's free!

Fair enough, Gareth. However, keep in mind that 37 are keeping a very watchful eye here. This forum of complaints and discourtesy is the result of their fraudulent business strategy. Cynicism has eventually prevailed.
Instead of reading the terms and conditions in the contract, I asked the 37 representative to explain them to me thoroughly. There was no reason for me not to trust him, as other gyms in other countries had never misled me in the past (and signing contracts in a foreign language!).
After this experience, I remain very tentative about becoming a member at another London gym. Just read Azhim's first posting, and you will understand why. Everyone should consider jogging at the park or cycling to work. Enough is enough.
