This wall blog is ridiculous. Either people working for the gym or for rivals, who else gets so passionate about it. If you have a problem, tell the gym or change.

No credibitliy to the page at all.

I completely agree, Zoe.

Just to set the record straight, I am not particularly passionate either way about the gym. As a member I find it reasonably good, but have various niggles about the machines, the classes etc. In short, I find it no better nor worse than other gyms I have used (eg. Cottons). For me, it is convenient, and functional. A tad expensive, ok, but there you go... I've certainly not found anything so fundamentally wrong with the gym that I would resort to the sort of language commonly reserved for football terraces.

That is not only my opinion, but that of many friends who also visit the gym regularly.

What I found odd was the intensity of feeling against this gym by a few people that have never posted to this site before, and whose sole contribution to the London SE1 website is to pour scorn over the gym.

Perhaps I am being overly cynical here (and I agree with James that maybe I'm being too cynical in this regard), but I think it is worth raising the possibility that vested interests "may" be swaying the debate here.

Anyway, sorry for repeating my previous point and not adding anything substantially new to this over-long thread.

Guys I totally see your point: I never leave reviews of any kind, either good or bad, but when i received the letter from the credit control company, after the bad experience, I got extremely angry, and, besides writing a letter inviting them to sue me, I felt the need to create some damage, hence why i got online, googled the gym, and shared my experience with others, and the fact that a guy, a couple of reviews after mine, said he wouldn't join the gym after reading all the negative comments made me immensely happy!
It is perhaps a bit childish, but hey, small pleasures in life.
I can post the letters to prove you wrong.

Zoë, why have you become so passionate about 37? When did you register? Do you fall under one of the two categories you established? You say that if you have a problem, tell the gym or change. Well, we have told the gym, and no one has been listening. Word what you say carefully as it might not be construed to your advantage or have any “credibility.”

Martin Underwood and the 37 cheerleaders need to put down the pom-poms and stop responding in non sequiturs. The argument here is about contracts and maladministration, not the gym itself (average) or its equipment (average). If you cannot argue logically, please do not bother to respond; stick to the topic. I suspect that none of the 37 supporters actually want to elaborate as they are either clueless about our problem or changing the topic on purpose (because they work there?).

So far, the gym has yet to write to us to forfeit their ridiculous and fraudulent demands. Once again, anyone who has been financially extorted should go to Small Claims Court (especially you Azhim). Read my second to last posting for help in this instance.

Thank you to those who have posted more sensible, temperate contributions.

Please could I remind you that:

a) insults directed at other posters
and
b) personal remarks which may be interpreted as references to individuals involved in matters under discussion

are inappropriate and should not be posted here. Please keep your contributions factual and to the point.

I do not wish to have to curtail this thread prematurely, but with your opportunity to comment here comes a set of responsibilities. Please don't abuse it.

Thank you.

Have just started using the gym and thought I would check out this forum- I'm surprised that so many people seem to be unhappy with it. I usually just use the pool- love the dim lighting, and there always seems to be room- and plan to start having a go in the steam room/sauna soon. The changing rooms have everything you need- towels, lockers and hairdryers/straighteners. There is good shampoo and conditioner in the showers- which seem to work just fine! the cafe is great- the club sandwich and the chicken salads especially are to die for- and everyone there seems nice. I guess people are more likely to post to a forum if they are unhappy than if they are happy, but thought I'd contribute to the positive side.....

Tippi, nearby Pret à Manger offers better sandwiches; it would not be worth dying for 37's pseudocuisine. By the way, our complaints are about maladministration, not the gym per se.

I go swimming twice a week (St George's pool in Shadwell). I work in Tower Gateway and live in Borough so I'm considering joining 37 degrees

I read this thread hoping to get some advice and I have to say I'm more confused now! Is 37 that bad? or is it all lies? Are there any other local gyms that close late and have a pool?

By the way I'm also a new user here & this is my 1st post. I don't work for a local gym :@) I just googled "37 degrees gym" and this site was the 1st hit...
