I just found out that St Olave's College belongs to Berkeley Homes. Does the selling of the property mean BH has given up the fight to build their silly towers with nine floors each in Potters Field?

Berkeley have owned the former grammar school for ages - it's the fact that the council owns much of the former coach park that has prevented Berkeley from proceeding with the development which they now have permission for.

I mentioned this on another thread, but it's worth popping in to the Bill Viola exhibition/installations currently in the building - until 2 September.

[For some reason the promoters of the Viola show have conflated the names of the two previous users of the building - St Olave's Grammar School and Lambeth College - and are now referring to the place as St Olave's College.]

That is the name that Kalmar's have been trying to sell it under for some months...

I noted the hedging of bets on future neighbouring developments in the description:

And I see that it's now being touted as a venue for corporate events as St Olave's Manor!!!

The Christmas party version is even more garbled:

Quote:
St Olaves Manor is hosting London's most exclusive Christmas Party. The Manor was built in 1893 by the highly esteemed architect EW Mountford whose works include, The Famous Old Bailey. This Classic venue is prestigiously located in the heart of London between London Bridge & Tower Bridge alongside The Mayor of New Head Quarters. This grade II listed Victorian Manor is set in its own private grounds and is arranged over three floors.
