Yes the Beehive has changed hands and the owners make you very welcome.
Sundays are like they used to be years ago-they have live band with compere and guest singers in the afternoon. Seafood, roast spuds and nibbles are on the bar. they are really turning this pub into a traditional lovely family run pub.

The problem with the pubs in this area is that no one uses them on a regular basis. Everyone is at home watching Sky TV or just do not go out.
The quality of tenants in pubs has gone down and they really do let anyone run a pub now.
I used to drink in the Beehive years ago and it was a very nice pub.
The council should stop allowing planning permission to turn them into flats or places of worship.
People are too bothered decorating there over priced flats rather than having a quality social life. In the 70's I was out most nights and the pubs were great. There has been a steady decline for 25 years and it will only get worse.
You will find yourself walking 35 minutes to fins a good pub soon.
I personally like the St James Tavern at the moment or the Foresters.

I walk 15 minute to get to the Marigold, but I don't go every night, usually only once a week.

Karaoke? God No!
I would not dream of correcting you Jan, but if pressed I would say that The Barnaby closed earlier than 2004.
In the early to mid eighties it was run by Georgie Cottle and his wife Maureen, George was an ex boxer who also had The Red Cow in Grange Walk.
