Anyone have a favourite caff in the neighbourhood? I like Marie's Cafe on Lower Marsh, which gets a eulogy here:

Found another on that same site, the Grange Cafe in Bermondsey:

I know the guy in the picture. Will tell him he is famous at last. (Actually he is famous locally, and no he is not Robert Wyatt.)

Literal-minded pedants like myself still confine "eulogy" just to funeral orations.

I nearly had heart failure there, thinking I'd cursed Maries to closure with my post on an earlier thread suggesting their possible demise.

I love the Cat and Cucumber on Tower Bridge road. Ok the decor is a bit dated, but the nosh is spot on and excellent value.

I go every Saturday morning at about 9 am - so give me a shout as you walk in, don't worry about the strange looks.

Had the hot dinner a couple of weeks back - chicken, 2 veg and gravy - came to about 3-45. Was the biggest piece of chicken I have ever had. Yum.

I have't been there for a while (because I moved house) but I was always a big fan of "Tasty Snacks" on Grange Road, the Tower Bridge Road end. They always had a large selection of other meals as well as the greasy stuff. I was particularly fond of their shepherds pie.
