I don't mean to alarm you, but we had to book our photographer 18 months in advance. You really only have 6 weeks?! And you're getting married on Valentine's Day - that must be one of the most popular days of the year.... I'm afraid I don't have any recommendations, but don't delay in trying to make a booking. I hope this doesn't come across as rude, or an overreaction, but as someone who had huge difficulty in finding a good photographer 18 months in advance, I just want to wish you good luck!
We have a provisional on standby - just thought we would cast the net for inspiration. As we only want a photographer from 10.30 to 1.30pm it is possible a photographer could combine us with another job.
Jane, I appreciate your concern however despite much gasping from wedding professionals [You don't mean February 2007???? and Do you know how expensive flowers will be on Valentine's day???] my 4 month wedding planner approach has been a triumph!
If you do get stuck for a photographer, I suggest you get guests to take as many pictures as possible - does not cost if they are digital. They can send them to you digitally and you can sort/edit them on your computer and choose a few to enlarge etc. I know it's the thing to do, but does anyone look at wedding albums after the excitement has died down? You may then end up with lots of spontaneous shots which you may or may not prefer to formal groups etc - do people really want to see a posed picture of cutting the cake... If you go down this approach make sure you tell somebody to get pictures of people you want pictures of (old aunts etc) Hope this helps
Kelvin, I liked your photos, they show a lovely family wedding, and thats what weddings are for...but it would have been nice to see a formal picture of Bride and Groom in their finery! I'm probably just very old fashioned.....hence the name! :-)
