Norahbattie - why didn't you go back to AB and get it re-cut? Any professional salon would have been only too happy to comply. It's now cost you £72. He perhaps might also have showed you how to style your hair and what styling products to use to get the result he did.
BTW of course hair is different lengths on each side - unless you have a parting directly down the middle of your scalp - but then perhaps you are an extra from Life on Mars ;o)

Oooh no sir!

I have just had my Barnet sorted out by Jimmy and a splendidly marvellous even length either side of my loaf it is too.

I don't have a parting down the middle and would expect hair either side of my lugs to be the same length!

Actually, during my £8 - 10 minute shoring, we managed to discuss most of the current political events, the Rolling Stones, holidays (including cruises) and the bloody weather. Smashing.

I agree with bmovie. NorahBattie why didn't you complain if you were so dissatisfied with your hair cut? I went to AB, when it first opened and they were extreamly proffesional. I am sure would have redressed the situation if you were so unhappy with your hair cut. It seems a shame that you didnt let them know. My girlfriend has since been to AB on my recommendation and was delighted with the results although granted she didnt go for the 60s Bouffant look :o)

I had my hair cut at Andrew Brown a few weeks ago (£29 for a man's haircut). It's a nice place to go, the staff are friendly and they serve Godiva chocolates with the coffee.

The only thing that put me off was that the hairdresser (not Andrew Brown himself) used electric clippers for most of the cutting, which you don't expect at that price.

Good to know about the Godiva chocolates. But what kind of coffee do they serve?

...if you press it, they will come.

The kind that's full of hair after the first sip?

With fairly short hair as it is (shoulder length to be precise) i did not want AB touching my hair again to try and correct an already bad hairstyle just to make it worse again. I would rather go and have it cut somewhere where I have it previously cut and been happy with, I dont mind paying the extra money at all.

I told both AB and HE (hair express) in SQ that I dont have time to straighten my hair nor does my profession allow me to style my hair in an uber-style, so I need a simple cut that is easy to manage and can literally be washed and left to towel dry. HE managed this...AB did not...I had to tie up my hair every day with the bouffant that AB gave me!

It is at your own peril that you decide to go to AB, I personally would not recommend him nor return myself

Norahbattie, I agree with you. I wouldn't have gone back to the hairdresser if he has already given me a bad haircut. I know how it feels like as I have been through that. My haircut was so bad that I have never cut it shorter than shoulder length for 22 years! The hairdresser at that time gave me a 'skin cut'. The school, my family and friends were horrified. It was the longest and most embarassing moment I went through. It took my hair over 3 months to cover my scalp completely. It was obvious that the hairdresser did not follow my instruction.

I had a wash and blow dry at Andrew Brown, which Andrew himself did. I was delighted with the result, he styled my hair exactly how I wanted (but it looked even better than I could have imagined) and I have adopted him as my new hairdresser.

Plus he is a real sweetie.
