Whilst looking for something else I found this Hawkins Brown link about the work being done on the remaining block of terrace including the former St John's Tavern on Tooley Street. It suggests there will be a bar/restaurant in the old Tavern with studio and office space behing the retained facades. It will be interesting to see if it does start this month and if so how it will look. It is a challenge to link the shiny glass of More London with the brick terraces on the other side of Tooley Street.

New hoardings and scaffolding have gone up along this parade this week - does anyone know what was finally decided what will happen to these interesting but very delapidated buildings?

Opposite is the redevelopment by Great Portland Estates - just found this on their web site http://www.gpe.co.uk/property/feature/?id=2054

More shops and restarant premises on the building's Tooley Street frontage.

Their distance timings seem a bit odd though... 14 minutes to Tower Bridge?!

Well - would one have been drinking in one of the pubs and goes back via City Hall (which is mentioned at 7 minutes) then maybe, just maybe it may take 14 minutes to Tower Bridge? Then again, maybe not. However, it's only 8 minutes to Bond Street tube?
