Planning Application at Longstone Court

Does anybody understand the implications of the planning application for the change of use of the ground floor at the Longstone Court Development at the top end of Dover Street? [South side, beside AMEC building, SE1 4LB]

The ground floor has remained unoccupied since the site has been developed.

The proposal wording is: "Change of use of the ground floor from office (B1)/retail (A1) to mixed use office (B1)/retail(A1)/D1 (non-residential institution)"

Any insight much appreciated - any objections need to be placed by May 22

It looks like it just adds the ability to use the space for the following:

D1 Non-residential institutions - Clinics, health centres, crèches, day nurseries, day centres, schools, art galleries, museums, libraries, halls, places of worship, church halls, law court. Non residential education and training centres.

For more info, do a Google on the "Use Classes Order".

The other usess referred to are:

B1 - office use
A1 - standard retail (i.e. not including restaurants/cafes or estate agents/banks)
