Compare Vauxhall Park, which is almost a good enough garden to want to pay to visit. To Spa Park, where you could get a good crop of silage off the 'lawns' and the roses were never pruned last winter. 1m of taxpayers money was spent on Spa Park last year - I know I keep on banging on about it, but even so.

Kennington Park to Southwark Park.

The 'Paragon' park at the east end of the New Kent Road or the park on Bermondsey Street.

We have so little green space in SE1, it is a wonder to me that it is so neglected.

And the few that aren't neglected are the ones maintained by BOST (sorry, Bankside Open Spaces Trust) and not Southwark Council. Though I have to say that Chumleigh Gardens is a gem.

I always thought Southwark did a pretty good job of maintaining its green spaces (with the exception of Guy Street Gardens). Southwark Park always looks fine when I go through it.

They're also quite good at planting new trees, and replacing vandalised or damaged saplings with new ones.
