The Hill meeting next Wednesday should still be very interesting , the By-election shouldn't be allowed to stop the alternatives from moving forwards.

Did anyone attend the Shad Thames Residents Association meeting on Monday 12th?
I missed it, but from the agenda -
"Nick Stanton - Lead Councillor - will let us have the most recent information available on developments related to the coach park"
What was the news? What questions were asked and what did he say??

Ahh… Arts Igniting Minds would like to thank everyone who participated in the design process. After a meeting with Bridin O'Connor, head of large projects at Southwark Planning, Southwark have agreed to consider outline planning permission for The Hill. They were especially pleased to hear about our community meetings and the beginning of a participatory design process to create a building we all want. We also now have Mayoral endorsement for the project, although not site-specific this is a positive step:
“The Hill is an innovative proposal with many interesting opportunities for the engagement of artists and the public. We very much hope this idea will come to fruition in the near future in London, Beijing or New York. At this stage, on behalf of the Mayor's Office, I would like to wish you all the very best with the next stage of this project.” - Ken Livingstone.
As a volunteer organisation, without all your help this project would not be possible, and we very much appreciate your continuing support. We would like to draw your attention to our website http://www.ahh.uk.com where we are about to add a paypal link in order to receive charitable donations to help move the project ahead.
We would also like to invite you to see some of our work. Our first digital live art commission is projected onto our doors every evening and we have been commissioned by Shakespeare's Globe to create Permission to Play an interactive theatrical journey through their new exhibition during Southwark's Frost Fair on the 15th and 16th of December. Entrance is free to all and we hope to see you there! For more information go to our website.

That's fantastic news that Southwark council will be considering the Hill for planning permission,
As an idea as breathtaking as the Hill has to happen in London and specifically for the Olympics by Tower Bridge ,not Beijing or New York.

Now Berkeley has launched an appeal re. the boutique hotel proposal for the grammar school building as Southwark has not determined the application within the necessary timeframe:

Ah, that old trick. It happens over and over again and Southwark miss the window regularly, Berkeley/St. George appeal on this default regularly, and get their application passed, regularly, since by then people have taken their eye off the ball....
