Is this as nice as it looks?

I've been in there a few times ealry in the evening and I quite like it, not the best boozer in the world but by no means the worst either

Great in the Winter - a good cosy ole' place, and sometimes quite a fun crowd with "Stoooodents" from nearby South Bank Uni.

The students are probably not South Bank University but Kings College and LSE who have halls of residence over the road.

it can get noisy in there if a pub quiz is on! but otherwise it ain't bad if typical gastropub interior is what you're after.

I very much like the Roebuck, it tends to be peopled but not too busy most evenings. They have meantime ales on tap plus a few other interesting beers, and the wine list is ok. Food is good, but the menu doesn't seem to change as much as it used to.

It's decent enough, but a bit lacking in authentic character. I wouldn't rate as one of my top ten SE1 pubs.

I agree, it's ok but I prefer some of the others locally like:
The Hartley - for food
The Rose - great place, great dukebox, open late.
The Rake - for serious ale fans.
Teh Roxy - for something different.

I want a pub with an Earlbox.

That's funny!
I could say it was because I am a little dyslexic - but prefer to think of myself as a little thick!
