Hi,

I'm new to London-Could anyone reccommend a good place to go to celebrate New Year's Eve (after midnight!)please?

I am lucky because I can see the London Eye (in the distance) from the flat I'm living in, so I'm going to have a party here but then after midnight I'd like to go to a club.

There's going to be quite a few of us so somewhere we can buy tickets for to avoid queuing would be good. Also how easy is it getting home on New Year's eve?

Thanks very much!

All the clubs have big NYE bashes, but you need to book tickets for them, and they're quite expensive. I think the tube normally runs late, and they put more night buses on in town, but generally, getting home is a bit of a nightmare.

I'd stick with having just a party at your flat, are you really going to want to go out in the cold after 12, when (I assume), you have plenty of booze in and are having an amazing time anyway.

I'm off to the Southbank centre to see the Super Furry Animals, I can't wait !!!

The tube runs to around 4:30am and it is free to travel after 11:45 NYE, it does get rather busy though. Clubs are expensive, i used to pay around 40 just to get in the door, they are good fun though if your young and carefree so i'd say go for it, i remember those days! Can't really recommend anywhere as haven't been out NYE for a couple of years now, sorry.

Motion Bar is pretty good, it's right outside Embankment station, looking out over the river. I would imagine that it will be extremely busy on New Years Eve though.

Not quite a club but could be fun;

Local bar that does cinema screenings etc, i'd check that you'd get admittance after 12 (though they are operating a ticket system, tix are 10 whcih seems reasonable to me)

I also suggest you ring The Coronet at the E&C shopping centre to see what they're putting on;
