according to my sources there has been no application to List the E&C shopping centre.
I have been told that with planning and progress so far advanced that any attempt to List would fail anyway.
However great this place once was, and whatever claims it can make in it's case - it does not deserve to stay, when something much better will be put up in it's place.
Generaly I'm in favour of the Listing process to preserve buildings of historical or architectural merit - just not in this case.

And I would have thought the E&C is now an even less likely candidate for listing after today's refusal to list Robin Hood Gardens despite a campaigh by the great and the good of modernist architecture.
