Scam in Bermondsey St area?

I think this is a scam (but would be delighted to be proved wrong) - a warning for others! A youngish man talked his way into our office just off Bermondsey St this afternoon claiming to be doing a 20-mile fun run for his daughter's school/ADHD unit ("St Paul's" - "near the cathedral") tomorrow and asking for sponsorship. Made all sorts of promises about how the sponsorship would entitle you to a certificate, attend the opening etc, as well as rattling off (alleged) charity numbers.
